David P. Colas – West Pittsburg, Pa., Formerly of Monessen

David P. Colas, 68, of West Pittsburg in Lawrence County, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at his residence, following a brief illness. Born on March 3, 1952, in North Charleroi, he was a son of the late Paul G. and Eleanor D. Zadrozny Colas. Dave graduated from Monessen High School. He worked at the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. at the Fourth Street lab as an analyst of steel produced there. He later worked in the lab at Remacor in West Pittsburg (a steel additive producer) as a lab technician. Dave was a member of Moravia Presbyterian Church. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed attending high school football and basketball games. He also enjoyed camping. Survivors include his brother, Kevin Lee Colas of Monessen; and his companion of 23 years, Shirley V. Chieze Trott, with whom he resided. A service was held June 14, 2020, at Moravia Presbyterian Church with Pastor Charlene M. Kennedy of Moravia Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
