Kathleen R. Daugherty Wassilchalk – Belle Vernon

Kathleen R. Daugherty Wassilchalk, 94, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Mon Valley Hospital, Monongahela. Born July 30, 1925, in Gillespie, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Winifred Daugherty Brown. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 62 years, Mrs. Wassilchalk was Protestant by faith, a homemaker and a member of the Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Wassilchalk of Belle Vernon; daughter, Winifred Ann Wassilchalk of Belle Vernon; two grandchildren, William Andrew Batton and Scot Christopher Batton; three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Wassilchalk; and a son, Andrew Roy Wassilchalk. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC with the Rev. Mary Kay Glunt of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Keeping in compliance with the county and state mandate of “green phase,” guests are asked to please abide by personal protective guidelines, masks MUST be worn and social distancing must still be maintained.
