The Cal U Puppet Brigade hopes something positive can come from the COVID-19 pandemic — a larger audience.

Created as part of Sabrina Hykes-Davis’ puppetry class, the group has performed in person for the past three years.

This year, puppeteers have switched to a virtual format in response to the pandemic.

The Puppet Brigade will present four different shows today, June 22, July 13 and July 27 that will be posted on the Cal U Theatre Department’s Facebook page.

Each show will be unique and will include activities that can be downloaded and printed to participate from home.

Printed packets of the activities, funded by a grant from Cal U’s Faculty Professional Development Center, will be distributed through the “Grab N Go Meals” program in the California Area School District.
