George H. Baldwin Jr., 81, of Perryopolis, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2020, in his home. A son of the late George Baldwin Sr. and Violet Lynn Baldwin, he was born in Pricedale on July 21, 1938. A lifelong resident of Perryopolis, George was a bus driver and mechanic for Hilltop Bus Lines since 1960. He drove both school and charter buses. He loved driving for many charter trips to Atlantic City, Niagara Falls, Canada, as well as Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins games. He was a member of the former Pricedale Union Church, the Ravens Club and Monessen Hilltop Fireman’s Club. George loved going to the casino and playing bingo. More recently, he enjoyed spending time with Thelma’s family. George is survived by his girlfriend, Thelma Myers with whom he made his home for the last 14 years; five daughters and three sons-in-law; Candy and Don Tirpak of Donora, Georgette Baldwin of Virginia, Michele and Scott Backo of Venetia, Jill Baldwin of Donora and Rachel and Ronnie Matz of Belle Vernon; one son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Cindy Baldwin of New Jersey; seven grandchildren, Blaine, Heather, Kaylee, Andrew, Jordan, Joel and Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shane D. Baldwin in 1992; a sister, Mary Lou Owens; and his constant companion, Bootz. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2020, at the Jefferson Township Municipal Complex, 262 Stuckslager Road, Perryopolis, PA 15473.
