CHARLEROI — Chad Ramsden’s two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning capped an exciting comeback as Charleroi Bartolotta’s downed the Brownsville Stingers, 15-14, in a Fayette County slugfest Sunday at Vets Field.

Bartolotta’s overcame an 11-7 deficit in winning for the second time in as many tries after an 0-3 start.

Charleroi and Brownsville battled back and forth the entire day. Brownsville went ahead 4-1 in the top of the second inning with three runs before Charleroi answered with four in the bottom of the frame, all scoring after two outs.

AJ Cooper hit a two-run single in the second before Brownsville scored four runs in the top of the fourth to take the 11-7 lead. The visitors collected six hits, including a triple by Jim Cales, who had three hits on the day.

Charleroi started its comeback in the bottom of the fourth with three runs as Justin Hillman, who had four hits, doubled home two runners for the key hit of the inning.

After Brownsville scored three times to take a 14-10 lead in the top of the fifth, Bartolotta’s answered with three in the bottom of the inning.
