Family has always been important for Yough graduate Scott Houseman. So after spending two seasons playing football at Lackawanna College and playing in the National Junior College Athletic Association this past season, the big guy was looking for a family atmosphere and the right fit when it came to continuing his athletic career.
Now, the 6-4, 295-pound offensive lineman from Smithton has found his next football family.
Houseman recently announced he was committing to the University of Albany, where he’ll join Pittsburgh native and head coach Greg Gattuso’s Great Danes squad.
“I chose Albany because the coaches really felt like family. Many were from around my area, so I could relate a little more to them,” Houseman said. “They also came off an amazing season last year and lost some offensive linemen. I felt I could step up at Albany and really give myself a chance to play.”
