Roy Armstrong, 77, of Dunlevy, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020, at his home surrounded by family.  He was born in Victory Hill Dec. 24, 1942, to the late Albert and Ellen Samer Armstrong. He graduated from Monongahela High School in the Class of 1960. Roy was a member of the Christian Church Center and Charleroi American Legion Post 22. He retired from U.S. Steel, Irwin Plant and was a very proud Marine.  Roy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Kostelensky Armstrong; his sons, David Armstrong of Charleroi, Daniel Armstrong (Sandy) of Wheeling W.Va., Thomas Armstrong (Brenda) of Jefferson, Pa., and Kevin Armstrong (Paige) of Charleroi; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his son, Roy A. Armstrong. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at SCHROCK HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Interment will be in the Monongahela Cemetery with full military rites by the Mon Valley Honor Guard. Keeping in compliance with the guidelines set forth by the commonwealth, 25 visitors may be in the funeral at one time. We seek everyone’s cooperation and patience, practicing social distancing, wearing face masks and limiting your visit to 5 minutes or less.
