Pauline Doris Koval, 94, of Donora, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Jennie’s Personal Care Home in Isabella, Pa. She was born in Donora, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Buck Syrko. She was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Donora, the American Rusin Club of Donora, the GCU and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She graduated from Donora High School in 1943. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael, in October of 1964; her brother, Joseph C. Syrko, on Sept. 26, 1998; and her sister-in-law, Pauline M. Syrko, on Jan. 18, 2019. Surviving is her son, Frank Koval. Also surviving are her nephew, David J. Syrko Sr. (Donna Coleman and her family); and her nieces, Kim Syrko and Linda Koceski (Jeffrey); six great-nieces and great-nephews, David J. Syrko Jr. (Felicia), Stephanie (Jeremy) Layne, Joseph (Paula) Syrko, Matthew (Jamie) Koceski, Ryan and Caitlin Koceski; four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Leif and Alexis Syrko and Logan and Lucas Koceski; and her goddaughter, Mary Ann Kostrubanic and family. Although Pauline deserves a beautiful celebration of her life, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this would NOT be a socially responsible decision and in the best health interest of our family and friends.  Therefore, we are limiting any funeral proceedings to the immediate family.  Please be with us in prayer.
