After the counties that encompass the Mon Valley joined the yellow phase Friday, Gov. Tom Wolf announced another dozen counties will make the move this Friday.
Beaver County will join its Southwestern Pennsylvania neighbors in the yellow phase, along with Adams, Carbon, Columbia, Cumberland, Juniata, Mifflin, Perry, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Wayne and York.
After this week’s round of reopenings, more than two-thirds of the state will have moved into the yellow phase.
The latest dozen counties don’t hold to a region of the state as the first two rounds did. In fact, the counties selected are quite spread out.
Beaver County, of course, is on the western side of the state and Wayne County is on our eastern border.
Carbon County is on the bottom tip the northeastern corner of the state, but it doesn’t touch any other states that are currently in the yellow phase.
