Eleanor Jean Gombos Lauteri
Eleanor Jean Gombos Lauteri, 88, passed away on May 12, 2020. She was born in Monessen on Dec. 22, 1931, to the late Suzanne and John Gombos. She was married to Frank Lauteri for 58 years prior to his passing in 2009. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Divine Orthodox church in Monessen, where she served as president of the parish council, and member of the Ladies Altar Guild and church choir. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Children’s Hospital. In her early years, she worked at Albert’s Market, Sheppentals and Kroger. She is survived by two sons, James (Kathleen) and John (Rita); her four grandchildren, Kristen (Omar) Khan, David (Melissa) Lauteri, Frank (Amanda) Lauteri and Salvatore Lauteri; and three great-granddaughters, Sophia, Hannah and Alina. She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers, Mary Van Glahn, Margaret Kelemen, Anne Laskey, Betty Gombos, Irene Biszaha, John Gombos, Robert Gombos and Harry Gombos. Private funeral arrangements were managed by RHOME FUNERAL HOME in Monessen with interment at Grandview Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
