LaVerne Hamilton – Roscoe
LaVerne Hamilton, 96, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. She was born in Monessen on Oct. 17, 1923, a daughter of Felix and Aline Louis Lespilette. LaVerne was a member of the United Methodist Church in Roscoe. In her earlier years, she worked for the former Pittsburgh-Wheeling Steel Monessen plant as an office clerk. LaVerne loved spending her time with her family and enjoyed watching Pittsburgh’s professional sports teams. She was an avid newspaper reader and loved “brain games.” LaVerne is survived by her four daughters, Candice Treser of Roscoe, LaVerne Sherry (Lance) Trussa of Fallowfield Township, Janice (Scott) Jupin of Belle Vernon and Kimberly (Jeffrey) Fleming of Belle Vernon; a son, Lawrence Dale (Melissa) Hamilton Jr. of Hempfield Township; 13 grandchildren, Kristen Trussa, Jeremy Trussa, Elliott (Brittany) Trussa, Adam Trussa, Sara (Waugh) Carter, Amanda Treser, Scott Jupin Jr., Zachary Jupin, Carrie (Christopher) Chacko, Ashley Hamilton, Alyssa Hamilton and Lawrence Dale Hamilton III; three great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Aribella Chacko and Estella Trussa; and a sister-in-law, Betty Jane Lespilette of Jefferson Hills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Dale Hamilton; a grandson, Jeffrey Michael Fleming Jr.; and her brother, Lawrence Lespilette. Visitation will be held at LaVerne’s home, 508 Lynn St., Roscoe on Friday, May 8 from 2 to 8 p.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, with the Rev. Brian Carroll presiding.
