Dolores Agnes Michaels Zyglowicz – Monessen

Dolores Agnes Michaels Zyglowicz, 86, of Monessen, died Thursday, April 23, 2020, in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. She was born on March 31, 1934, in Monessen, the daughter of the late John Michaels Sr. and Anna Julia Vagasky Michaels. Dolores was a lifelong resident of the Monessen area and graduated from Rostraver High School, Class of 1953. Following graduation, she worked for Magura’s Clothing Factory in Monessen and later for Donora Sportswear. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and the former St. Hyacinth Roman Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. Dolores was also a member of Mon Valley Slovak Society and Greater Monessen Historical Society. She volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Monessen Center for Active Adults. She is survived by a son, Daniel Zyglowicz of Monessen; a daughter, Diane (Joseph) Palli of Belle Vernon; granddaughter, Sarah Palli; grandson, Stephen Palli; numerous nieces and nephews; and by her loving dog Sandy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Zyglowicz, whom she married on Oct. 24, 1959; five brothers, John Jr., Joseph, Frank, Elmer and Paul Michaels; and by four sisters, Agnes Michaels, Ann Pagonis Randall, Margaret Mann and Helen Martin. Due to the pandemic, a private visitation will be held and a private funeral Mass celebrated in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Greater Monessen Historical Society, 505 Donner Ave., Monessen, PA 15062, or Monessen Public Library, 326 Donner Ave. Monessen, PA 15062, or St. Vincent de Paul Society 1701 Grand Blvd., Monessen, PA 15062.
