Graduation remains on track for Monessen High School seniors.

Monessen School District Superintendent Dr. Leanne Spazak said discussions Wednesday about graduation went well, and seniors should graduate on time despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The district has navigated through many challenges during this pandemic, but one of significance is how to create a graduation sendoff that properly celebrates our seniors,” Spazak said. “We want our students and parents to know that we have no intention of holding a virtual graduation ceremony.”

While it is unclear what restrictions will be in place in six weeks, as of Thursday, graduation will still take place on time.

“It is difficult to make plans when you have no idea what restrictions we will be facing in June,” Spazak said.
