Michael L. Kerston, 71, of White Oak, died Tuesday, April 21, 2020. He was born in McKeesport on May 1, 1948, and is the son of the late Andrew and Marie Candelore Kerston Soriano. Mike was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam era. He was employed as a machinist for U.S. Steel in McKeesport and after retiring, worked part-time at Butler’s Golf Course. He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, White Oak Legion Post 701 and VFW Post 781 in Irwin, where he was a member of the pool league. He was an avid golfer, but also enjoyed all sports. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Jane McCombs Kerston of White Oak; children, Dana Michelle Kerston of Liberty borough and Michael A. (Nikki) Kerston of McKeesport; grandchildren Seth Olinsky, DevaLyn Kerston and Noah Kirsch; great-grandchild, Logan Michael Bruno; sisters, Laura (the late Morris) Chandler of White Oak, Susan (John) Janosko of McKeesport; brothers, Leslie (Kathy) Kerston of North Huntingdon, Leonard (Geraldine) Kerston of Irwin and William Soriano of Pittsburgh; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A family gathering was held at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177.
