Mary Lou Oravec Canestrale – Monessen

Mary Lou Oravec Canestrale, 57, of Monessen, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 20, 2020, at her residence. She was born on March 25, 1963, in Port Jervis, N.Y., the daughter of Victor and Lena Rodgers Oravec of Charleroi, who survive. Mary Lou grew up in Monessen and attended Monessen schools. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, enjoyed working with crafts, and adored her Shih Tzu, Penelope. She is survived by her two daughters, Alyssa Canestrale and husband Timothy Reihner and Mia Marie Canestrale; two sisters, Michele Oravec Zubritsky and Victoria Lynn DeZardo; brother, Victor “Tubby” (Karen) Oravec; two sisters-in-law, Doreen (Alan) Dilegge and Darlene (Fred Culler) Pabis; and by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew “Mattie” Canestrale Jr.; and by her father and mother-in-law, Matthew and Lorraine (Caterino) Canestrale. Due to the pandemic, private funeral services will be held at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Entombment will be in Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum, Monessen. Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
