Wanda Bongiorno – Carrol Township, formerly of Perryopolis

By obits

Wanda Bongiorno passed away peacefully on April 16, 2020. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved antiques, cooking and most of all her husband, Philip. She is survived by her husband, Philip; loving and wonderful caregiver, Cathy Bongiorno; daughters, Susan (John) Thomson and Beth (partner Rick); and stepdaughters, Patty and Phyllis. Wanda is survived by two siblings, John and Irene. She had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Bell. “When you remember me, it means you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some kind of mark of who I am on who you are. It means you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles stand between us. It means that if we meet again, you will know me. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart.” — Frederich Buechner. We wish to thank the Residence at Hilltop and the Hospice Association for their kindness and wonderful care. Due to the current COVID-19 public gathering restrictions, visitation and funeral services are private. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to LEONARD M. PAVLIC FUNERAL HOMES INC., 235 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Online condolences may be expressed at www.pavlicfuneralhomes.com. Donations can be made to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Attn: Office of External & Government Relations, 4400 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
