Residents looking for work during the COVID-19 pandemic have a new way to search.

On Monday, the Department of Labor and Industry launched an online job portal. The COVID-19 job portal will list available positions at life-sustaining businesses.

L&I Secretary Jerry Oleksiak said many places are hiring even though much of the state is shut down.

“Many life-sustaining businesses across Pennsylvania are hiring and this new portal will help connect them with people looking for a job,” Oleksiak said. “A top priority of L&I is to provide businesses with access to the workforce they need to maintain their life-sustaining operations and help our workers find jobs, especially during this unprecedented and challenging time.”

Those seeking employment can go to www.pacareerlink.pa.gov to find available positions by clicking on the “PA COVID-19 Jobs – Hiring Immediately” job portal banner to see active job openings.

Residents who want to apply can select “Apply Now” and will be redirected to the employer’s website or email where they can apply directly with the employer and speed up the hiring process.

Life-sustaining businesses offering employment can also feature their job openings on the portal through an online form.

To post a listing on the portal, employers must meet the criteria of a life-sustaining business and have more than 10 job openings.

The PA COVID-19 job portal will be updated daily.

The new job portal is part of the PA CareerLink system.

While CareerLink offices are currently closed to the public to adhere to necessary social distancing measures, staff is teleworking and providing virtual services to job seekers and employers.
