Remember When?: Still perfect: BV Area tops Mt. Pleasant, 6-4

If Belle Vernon Area would had followed the script, they would have lost to visiting Mt. Pleasant Thursday.

The Leps didn’t.

BVA used a four-run third inning en route to a 6-4 victory over the Vikings to remain the lone unbeaten team in Class AA’s Sec. 5.

“We split every year with Mt. Pleasant, but this is the first time we beat them in the first round,” said BVA coach Jimmy Russell.

Although the Leps are sitting on top of the section at 3-0, Russell remains cautious.

“All of our section wins have been at home,” he noted. “Going on the road will tell me a lot.”
