Helen Christine Lynch, 101, of Rostraver Township, died Friday, April 3, 2020. Born in Dumont, Minn., on Oct. 20, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John J. Fridgen Jr. and Ann Bauer Fridgen. Helen was a medical technologist trained in both laboratory and X-ray at the Northwest Institute in Minneapolis, Minn., and worked as such for 30 years, working most of those years at the former Monongahela Hospital and then retiring from Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was a member of the Church of St. Anne. Helen is survived by her daughters-in-law, Joanne Lynch of Indiana, Pa., and Kathleen M. Lynch of Brookville, Pa.; granddaughters, Christine Hoffman, Jennifer Lynch (Tommy Curry), Jennifer Lieb (Bernie) and Melissa Lynch; and great-grandchildren, Aidan, Rory and Taryn Hoffman and Allison Lieb. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Minor Lynch; sons, David Lynch, Ph.D., and William Lynch, D.O.; brothers, Francis, Arthur, Raymond, Donald and Gerald; and her sister, Eleanor. Per Helen’s request, there will be no public visitation. A private funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Township, with the Rev. David J. Nazimek presiding. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to either the Church of St. Anne or the Salvation Army.
