Frances V. Papak Jurik – Monongahela

Frances V. Papak Jurik, 95, of Monongahela, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 29, 2020, in her home. She was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Carroll Township, the daughter of Daniel and Veronica Makuch Papak. Frances graduated from Monongahela High School in 1942. For 35 years, she and her husband, Joseph, owned and operated Jurik’s Beer Distributor in New Eagle until its closing in 1982. Frances was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. She is survived by her daughter, Veronica Jurik of Monongahela; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jurik who died Feb. 13, 2003; a son, Thomas Jurik, who died March 5, 2020; three brothers, Joseph, Andrew and Laddie Papak; three sisters, Helen Julak, Ann Zukowski and Margaret Law; and a nephew, Terry Law. Very deserving of a beautiful celebration of her life, there will be no visitations or Mass of Christian burial due to the health and safety concerns associated with the coronavirus outbreak. Frances will be buried in the family plot at Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212-1694 or to a charity of your choice.
