By obits

Anna Marie Blake, 91, of Grove City, formerly of Charleroi, passed peacefully at home on Saturday evening, March 28, 2020, following a brief illness. Anna was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, on May 3, 1928, to John and Lillian Brubaugh Fitzpatrick. She married James J. Blake on June 28, 1957; he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2011. Due to the death of her mother at age 5, Anna and four of her seven siblings were raised by their aunt, Theresa Gedeon. Anna attended Sampson-Star school in Eldora, Pa. She was a member of East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City and former member of The Charleroi Presbyterian Church. Anna enjoyed time spent with all her grandchildren, crocheting and making candy and being with her church family. Annually, Anna would crochet 100 hats for the homeless and in recent years she looked forward to family gatherings with her nieces and nephews. Prior to coming home in recent weeks, Anna was a resident of Orchard Manor for the past four years. She truly enjoyed her time there with the staff and residents. Anna’s family would like to thank everyone at Orchard Manor for the good care that was given to her. Anna is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hazy and husband Mark of Grove City; seven grandchildren, Karen Bishop and husband Dan, Michael Hazy and wife Ashley, Joe Hazy and wife Elizabeth, Carly Stillwaggon and husband Adam, Noah Hazy, Hayat Wilkins and husband Sy and Esmael Hazy, all of Grove City; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by sister-in-law, Peggy Fitzpatrick. Her parents; husband; five sisters, Tootie Sommers, Lillian Caldwell, Eileen Sukel, Theresa Keefer and Margie Lowther; two brothers, her twin Alfred, and John Fitzpatrick preceded Anna in death.
