The Belle Vernon Area School District will begin providing grab-and-go meals for children ages 2-18 starting Monday.
Both breakfast and lunch will be provided in the distribution, which will take place Mondays through Fridays only. Sign up is required in order to receive the meals and may be done online at the district’s website at www.bellevernonarea.net under announcements for crisis management.
Meals can be picked up between 11 a.m. and noon at Marion Elementary School, 500 Perry Ave., Washington Township, or at Rostraver Elementary School, 300 Crest Ave., Rostraver Township. The meals will be available outside the main entrance of each school.
Only one person should approach the serving table at a time, keeping a minimum distance of 6 feet from anyone else in the line. No one will be permitted inside the buildings.
The person picking up the meals should provide the name of the child or children receiving the meals, then leave the area.
Meals will also be delivered by school bus to the circle at Marion Villa at 11 a.m., at the two bus stops at Rostraver Apartments at 11:20 a.m. and at both bus stops at Port Royal Village at 11:45 a.m.
Participants are asked not to approach the buses. The meals will be set on a table and participants picking up meals are to approach the table in single file, with a minimum of 6 feet between those in the line. Again, only the name of the child will be needed.
Registration is only required once and may be done by printing out the form or completing it online. The registration form asks for an email address, name, telephone number and the selection of a pickup location.
