John G. “Johnny K.” Kaminsky, 78 of Monessen, died on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at The Greenery, Canonsburg. Born in New York, N.Y., on Aug. 4, 1941, he was the son of the late John and Barbara Petey Kaminsky. John was a graduate of Monessen High School Class of 1958, where he was a three-year letterman in baseball. He was a former member of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. John served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1962, as an E-5 quartermaster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven uncles, Adam, John, George, Frank, Joseph, Steve and Andrew Petey; and two aunts, Irene Hlatky and Josephine Galaski. He is survived by a son, Kevin; his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara (Sissy) and Phillip Mora of Discovery Bay, Calif.; a nephew, Chris Mora: a niece, Stephanie Hardman; a great-niece, Jessie Hardman; and great-nephew, Zachary Hardman; and numerous cousins.
