Lorene Elizabeth Batch McCrae, 91, formerly of Monessen, departed this life March 13, 2020, in Tampa, Fla., with her devoted daughter Kimberly by her side. She was born Nov. 6, 1928, in Elizabeth, daughter of the late William Wesley and Hazel Lee Brinegar Batch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert “Mac” McCrae; and two sisters, Olive Micheaux and Charlotte Nelson. Lorene retired from Havencrest Nursing Center in Monongahela, where she was a certified nursing assistant. She was also formerly employed at Penny’s, Sears, and Shop ’n Save in Monessen. Lorene attended Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Elizabeth from infancy and later became a member of Wayman A.M.E. Church in Monessen, where she served on the stewardess board. Lorene will be remembered with eternal love by her daughter, Kimberly (Bruce) Miller, and son Wilbert (Inez) McCrae; grandchildren, Mae Ann Larrazabal-Rodriguez, Nicholas and Sarah Miller; her sisters, Laura May Bell and Willa Jean Pinnix, both of Pittsburgh; and scores of nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2020. Homegoing celebration at 11 a.m. at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, 606 Fifth Ave., Elizabeth. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are preferred. Arrangements entrusted to ROBERT A. WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 449 Mitchell Ave., Clairton, Pa.
