Valerie A. Cornell, 77, of Rostraver Township, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2020, in Country Care Manor. The daughter of the late Bruno and June Zalos Vannucci, she was born in North Charleroi on Aug. 16, 1942. Valerie and her husband Lee were Gold Wing Riders for 10 years until 2010. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and Rostraver Township, she was a bookkeeper for 18 years at the former Ehlers Auto Parts of Belle Vernon and worked for John P. Place Inc. in Pleasant Hills until her retirement. An avid reader, she and her husband loved cruises and spent a lifetime boating on the Yough Lake and Monongahela River. Survivors include her husband, Lee Cornell; her son and son-in-law, Erik Cornell and Joseph Vitunic of Verona; her son and daughter-in-law, Brett Cornell and Tamara Luffy of Wexford; and one brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Kelly Vannucci of Indian Head. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Darryl Vannucci in 2013. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2020, in the funeral home with the Rev. Sandy Fitzgibbons officiating. Entombment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
