Local school districts will likely update their coronavirus response plans once superintendents participate in a video conference this morning with the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education.
Gov. Tom Wolf made a recommendation Thursday that large gatherings of 250 or more people should be canceled or postponed throughout the state, and so far, two Valley districts have made moves to postpone events.
Thomas Jefferson and Serra Catholic high schools have announced they will postpone their spring musicals.
Serra Catholic is closed today so the school can be sanitized and students will “Chrome from home.” There will be no classes for any schools in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh Monday so teachers can attend an in-service day to plan and prepare for possible school closures due to the pandemic.
