Defense will be key when TJ clashes with Woodland Hills

During recent practice sessions, Thomas Jefferson head coach Lisa Fairman has reiterated the importance of consistency and communication on the defensive side of the ball.

A strong and united display on defense will be vital this evening when the Jaguars meet fellow WPIAL foe Woodland Hills in the second round of the PIAA Class 5A playoffs at Peters Township High School.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.

“We can’t have any miscues out there,” Fairman said. “We have to make sure our defense is strong and that we communicate so everybody knows their role. We have to play as a team defensively.”

The extra emphasis on being consistent and communicating on defense is due in part to the size disadvantage TJ (19-7) is expected to face tonight.
