Ringgold battles in elimination loss to Lancaster Catholic

Ringgold gave the District 3 champions from Lancaster Catholic everything it had before suffering a 59-56 loss in the first round of the PIAA playoffs Friday night at Warwick High School.

“It was a tremendous game,” Ringgold head coach Phil Pergola said. “They probably outrebounded us, but we held our own. We played good defense and it was just a great showing. They were the favorites to win the game and their coach made a statement that they weren’t expecting (us to hang with them).”

Ringgold (14-11) had an opportunity to take the lead late but a 3-pointer by Chris Peccon went in and out. Lancaster Catholic (24-3) picked up the rebound before Nevin Roman hit a free throw to seal the victory.

Peccon led the way for the Rams with 20 points, while Demetrius Butler (11), Luke Wyvratt (10) and Nate Pajak (10) also finished in double figures.
