Claire McCarty Grove, 94, of McKeesport, died March 4, 2020, at AHN Forbes Hospital. Born Sept. 18, 1925, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late James Lester and Carolyn Denny Brinker and the wife of the late Eugene McCarty and Walter Grove. She was a member of the St. Pius Ladies Guild, Ladies Auxiliary Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Renzie Seniors, AARP Versailles Chapter 2911, McKeesport Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and American Legion Post 701 Auxiliary. She loved word search puzzles and sewing. She is survived by her loving friend and companion, Jerome Turkowski; children, Edward (Luanne) McCarty, of Chesapeake, Va., William (Lori) McCarty of Chesapeake, Va., David (Karen) McCarty of Export, Fay (Gary) Telleck of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tim McCarty of Jersey City, N.J.; grandchildren, Kelly, Shawn, Christine, Alyssa, John and Patrick; great-grandchildren, Addison, Jake, Anna, Jonas and Brady; along with nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Denny Brinker. Family and friends will be received at JAYCOX-JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church. Burial will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
