Alan D. Soderholm – Monessen

Alan D. Soderholm, 82, of Monessen, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020, in his residence. He was born in Monessen on March 18, 1937, son of the late Gus and Auni Maki Soderholm. Alan was Lutheran by faith and graduated from Monessen High School. Upon graduation, he served his country in the United States Army. Alan enjoyed walking, bicycling, travel and his dogs. He had been a steelworker for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel prior to his retirement. Surviving are nephew and nieces, Carl and wife Lisa Soderholm, Kimberly Soderholm, Linda and Chris Farner and Diane Furlong and Robert Campbell; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and Kathy Anderson, who was like a daughter to him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Soderholm; brother, Carl Soderholm; nephew, Gus “Ricky” Soderholm; niece, Lisa Soderholm; and his companion of many years, Betty Anderson. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Monessen.
