Versailles loses 2 council members, tax collector

Versailles borough council on Tuesday accepted the resignations of longtime Councilwoman Cyndee Richards and her son, Councilman Matt Richards, who was absent.
Council also accepted the resignation of tax collector Charisse Richards, who is Councilman Richards’ wife.
The Richards family recently purchased a house on Marshall Drive in McKeesport’s Haler Heights neighborhood and will soon be moving there.
Matt Richards was elected in November and took his seat as a councilman in January.
Asked how many years she has been a councilwoman, Cyndee Richards replied, “A long time. I think it’s been since 2001.”
