A team of middle school students in the Elizabeth Forward School District won two honors in the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing” video competition.

“They won the Viewers Choice award, which was for the most votes, and they also won the Best Promotion for their marketing and advertising,” said Amy Duschek, the Gifted and Enrichment Education teacher who supervised the project.

The group of seventh- grade students produced a video about Cleveland Price, a Trafford company that makes electrical switches, but it was the effort of the entire district, including members of the public, that propelled the project into the top honors.

“They did the newspaper article, were on the radio, put up banners in the town and handed out flyers to the elementary students,” Duschek said. “Our Fab Lab made banners to put up in Giant Eagle and the Rostraver ice rink. They made T-shirts. We even gave one to the Cleveland Price marketing specialist.”
