Lost dog found after six weeks

For the past six weeks, posts have plastered Facebook and flyers were tacked up all over Elizabeth Township asking people to be on the lookout for a missing Labrador mix named Jax.

The search paid off over the weekend, with the 6-year-old dog found safe and healthy a mile and a half from his central Elizabeth Township home.

“Friday I got a call from a gentleman who lived on Finney Road and he sent me a picture of a dog that had been frequenting his yard. I could tell immediately that it was Jax,” said Jenn McMahon, who has had Jax since he was a puppy.

McMahon said the past six weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions.

“Every phone call that I got, I got excited. Then I’d see the picture and realize it looked nothing like Jax,” McMahon said.
