Elaine B. Haines – Charleroi

Elaine B. Haines, 92, of Charleroi, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020. Born on Nov. 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Emily Zinsius Behrendt. She retired after 23 years with Telecommunications Inc. Elaine sang for 67 years in the choir of First Christian Church of Charleroi and was a life member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Monessen chapter. She is survived by a son, Eric and daughter-in-law, Kathryn Gibson; sister-in-law, Phila Behrendt of Bishop, Calif.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Jack Jones of Charleroi; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry J. “Hank” Haines; and brother, Robert Behrendt. Interment will be private. A public celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2020, at the First Christian Church of Charleroi.
