Carroll Twp. chief warns mourning families

Carroll Township police Chief Paul Brand said it is hard to find the right words to describe how disturbed he is that someone burglarized the homes of Craven Plan residents who recently passed away.
Brand said two homes were burglarized — one on Jan. 24 and the other on Feb. 18 — while loved ones of the recently deceased were mourning at funeral services.
“We take all crime serious but this type of crime goes to another level of despicable,” Brand said. “To prey upon families in mourning after the death of a loved one is despicable.”
Officer Mike Fendya said the department is “looking into the burglaries rather aggressively,” and investigators are asking for the public’s assistance to figure out who stole things like jewelry, silverware, designer purses and other valuables during the incidents.
