Over the course of a two-week layoff, the Thomas Jefferson boys basketball team has been hard at work.
Head coach Dom DeCicco said his team has played in a number of scrimmages over the last handful of days, facing off against playoff teams such as Peters Township, South Allegheny, Ringgold and Uniontown.
“We got a ton of work in during that time,” said DeCicco, whose team received a first-round bye in the WPIAL Class 5A playoffs. “No matter how you shake it out, it’s hard to keep the intensity up, but the last several days we’ve really ramped things up.
“There have been some quarters that haven’t been up to our standards, but then we’ve really bounced back and played well against all of those teams. We just have to be consistent for 32 minutes and we’ll be OK.”
