Sara Buylla Alterici, 92, of Monongahela, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020, in Asbury Heights, Mt. Lebanon. Born April 2, 1927, in Donora, she was the daughter of Manuel and Marcelina Buylla. A homemaker, Sara was a 1945 graduate of the former Donora High School and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. Surviving are her husband, Ralph Alterici, whom she married Aug. 19, 1958; two sons, Michael Alterici of Scott Township and Todd (Patti) Alterici of Annandale, Va.; a daughter, Marcy (Ron) Gevaudan of Mt. Lebanon; a granddaughter, Brooke Petro; a sister-in-law, Marion Sance of Monongahela; and a niece, Carol Pore of Monongahela. Preceding her in death were three sisters, Trinidad DeStefon, Esther Flack, and Maria Buylla; and two brothers, Oscar and Joseph Buylla. Funeral services were private and interment was held in Monongahela Cemetery. THE MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St. Monongahela, 724-258-6767, was in charge of the arrangements.
