Glassport borough council thanked state Rep. Bill Kortz, D-Dravosburg, Tuesday night for all his hard work on behalf of the borough.
Kortz announced last month that this will be his final term in office. Council President Elaina Skiba offered thanks for his years of service to the borough, along with his work to obtain grants for the community.
Kortz attended Tuesday’s meeting to recognize two Glassport residents who recently celebrated 100th birthdays, Marietta Norelli and Josephine Panek.
Kortz said he wanted to dispel any rumors that he was retiring because of his health. He has been diagnosed with a frozen shoulder and he is seeing a specialist.
