The Thomas Jefferson girls soccer program has a new leader.

Sean Richter was unanimously hired by the West Jefferson Hills school board during a meeting Jan. 28. Richter, who served as an assistant on the staff last season, replaces Jason Vozar who resigned after the 2019 campaign.

“I am really excited to be given the opportunity to work with the TJ girls,” Richter said. “A lot of hard work and commitment to the program has been put in before me, starting with the commitment to our travel and middle school programs. The success of the program over the past years is a testament to that and the culture that has been set by the coaches before me.”

Richter takes over a girls program that went 12-7-1 overall and 8-4 in Section 3-3A play last season. The Jaguars advanced to the WPIAL quarterfinals before being shut out by the eventual WPIAL and PIAA champions from Mars.
