Serra Catholic turns focus from seeding to playoffs

After stewing over the belief his team was under-seeded entering the WPIAL playoffs, Serra Catholic head coach Justin Walther focused on preparation the past few days.
The No. 8 Eagles (11-11) will face No. 9 South Side Beaver (11-11) at 2:30 p.m. today at Peters Township in a Class 2A first-round contest.
Walther’s displeasure with seeding after a playing a tough non-section schedule passed along through his team.
“These guys are extremely focused,” Walther said of his team in practice. “We know we can’t worry about who we played. We’ve talked about it. You have to play everybody anyway. We’re worrying about right now.”
