Valley 1st Community Federal Credit Union officials will research the possibility of opening a branch office in Donora.
Valley 1st CEO Jim Ritter told Donora council members Thursday night there have been discussions off and on with borough officials dating back years, but this is the first time it is feasible.
Ritter said he first talked about it to Donnie Pavelko, who was mayor at the time and is now a councilman, when Valley 1st closed its credit union in Monessen.
“But at that time, we were not able to make a commitment,” Ritter said. “Now we’re seriously looking at it and Donora as being one of those areas we may be able to branch out.”
