Woman faces fine for having cat colony in White Oak

A White Oak woman is fighting a citation from the borough for allegedly having a colony of feral cats on her property.

Jomarie Piccini was notified Feb. 5 by borough officials that she must stop feeding the cats and remove the colony within five days.

The borough told Piccini the citation was in response to a residential complaint claiming the colony was a “nuisance.”

“I didn’t think I was doing anything wrong to get this violation,” she said. “There wasn’t any warning, nor did any neighbor ever complain to me.

“The first I heard about this is when I received the papers in the mail last week.”
