Monessen will try again to get a tax anticipation loan when it meets with other banks next week, and this month’s bills will be paid upon receipt of funds.

During Tuesday’s council meeting, Councilman Gil Coles, who serves as finance director, submitted $106,000 in bills to be paid this month “upon receipt of funds.”

When questioned about which accounts the money would come from or how much money the city currently has, Coles gave a familiar answer.

Councilman Tony Orzechowski asked Coles how much is in the general fund.

“I’m asking you back a question, why are you always nitpicking everything?” Coles asked.

“That’s the job you wanted,” Orzechowski said.
