After one period of Monday night’s PIHL Division B matchup between Ringgold and Elizabeth Forward, the Rams’ unbeaten streak was in jeopardy.
The Warriors had a 1-0 lead and were taking it to the Rams from a physical standpoint. EF goalie Billy Siemon was making great saves and stopped all 14 shots on goal he faced.
Then the second period started and things went downhill from there.
Ringgold (15-0) scored six goals in the 17-minute period and took over on its way to an 8-2 victory at the Rostraver Ice Garden.
Brad Bujdos scored five goals, netting a natural hat trick in the second.
“We were not clicking in the first period, it was pretty clear,” said Rams coach Rick Kalinowski. “Then in the second period we got our pointmen involved and it just opened up the ice for us. There were times when four players would touch the puck. They weren’t scrum goals, they were pretty goals.”
