One person was flown to a Pittsburgh area hospital with a compound fracture of his leg after a car went out of control in Charleroi Monday night and drove through a garage.
According to Charleroi Regional Police Lt. Mike Polinski, police are reviewing video from surrounding security cameras to determine which of the three people who fled the vehicle was driving at the time of the accident. Polinski said police have identifying information on three individuals.
“It looks like they lost control of the car on the straight away and hit the curb, then ran into the garage,” Polinski said.
According to Charleroi Fire Chief Bob Whiten Jr., the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue.
“It took out the front of the garage. We had to put in temporary supports,” Whiten said.
