Two juveniles accused of robbing and beating a Monongahela man with a baseball bat will stand trial.
Christopher Urista, 16, of Washington and Jamie Watkins, 15, of Donora were held for court on all charges after a preliminary hearing Friday before Magisterial District Judge Mark Wilson in Washington County central court.
Both teens are being tried as adults in the case, and Washington County Judge John DiSalle gave them each a bond of $150,000. Urista and Watkins remain in Washington County Correctional Facility.
According to Monongahela police, Stephen Whatley and his girlfriend were asleep in his Thomas Street home Dec. 7 when Urista and Watkins entered the room wearing masks and demanding money.
The teens were looking for cash, marijuana and a safe, police said.
Whatley told police the robbers threatened to kill him and his girlfriend.
