Fallowfield Township supervisors plan to make a big announcement next month.
During Wednesday’s business meeting, Chairman Bruce Smith took a few minutes to explain the bigger picture at the Alta Vista Business Park.
For the past few months, Smith said supervisors have been meeting with the Mon Valley Alliance, developers and an undisclosed company to build a facility at the top section of the industrial park. The Mon Valley Alliance manages Alta Vista.
During the next business meeting, set for 6 p.m. Feb. 26, the developer will be in attendance to lay out details for what Smith called “the biggest thing to ever happen in the township.”
While Smith said he can’t disclose the name of the company, he did give some details about the project.
According to Smith, the company plans to expand into the business park and will build a more than 250,000 square-foot building and intends to bring more than 250 jobs to the area.
“This is really a big deal,” Smith said. “It is a huge company. This is going to be a busy summer up there and a really good thing for the township.”
