For the second time in less than two months, South Allegheny middle and high school students were dismissed from school early Tuesday after a bedbug was found in SA Middle/High School.
“Today we found a confirmed bedbug at the middle/high school,” the district said in a statement on its website and Facebook page. “Finding one does not mean that the building is infested.”
However, in an “abundance of caution,” the district had a licensed pest control specialist treat the entire middle and high school, including all classrooms, office areas and lockers, Tuesday afternoon.
The SA Middle/High School was closed for classes and after-school activities, including the Fitness Center, an alert from the district states.
Athletic practices were moved to the South Allegheny Elementary and Mon Valley mid-day bus runs were canceled.
