There may not be a player in the WPIAL that has had as much of an impact on her team’s success over the last week than Charleroi’s Bella Skobel.

The senior standout amassed 24-plus points for the third consecutive contest, finishing with game-high 27 in the Cougars’ 58-28 victory over Washington in Section 2-3A play Monday night.

Skobel, who scored 24 points in games against McGuffey and South Park last week, poured in 18 of her points in the second half for Charleroi (11-7, 7-4) while also collecting eight rebounds and dishing out six assists.

She was nearly automatic from the free throw line as well, connecting on 12 of her 14 attempts.

“We live and die with Bella,” Charleroi head coach Bill Wagner said. “When she is on, we have a chance to win every game.”
