William S. ‘Bill’ Jolley – Fayette City

William S. “Bill” Jolley, 90, of Fayette City, died peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 24, 2020. Born in Fayette City on July 4, 1929, he was the son of the late Stephen Jolley and Mary Lindey Jolley. Bill retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Allenport Plant. After his retirement in 1982, he then was owner and operator of Indian Waters Canoe Rentals in Tidioute, Pa., for 25 years. He served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean war aboard the USS Des Moines from 1950 to 1954. He was a lifelong member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Fayette City. Bill’s favorite pass time was hunting and spending time at his cottage in the mountains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Margaret “Peggy” Jolley; his twin brother, John T. “Jack” Jolley; and sister, Esther McCudden. He is survived by two sons, Steven and wife, Linda Jolley of Warriors Mark, Pa., and Thomas Jolley of Fayette City; daughter, Kathy Sellew and husband Brian of Fayette City; sister, Shirley Ferrara of Fayette City; sister-in-law, Betty Jolley of Belle Vernon; grandchildren, Michelle Dreibelbis, Shannon Berry, Krista White, Jason Jolley, Thomas W. Jolley, Corina Repnik, Neil Sellew, Heather Sellew and Tyler Sellew; great-grandchildren, Katrina and Josiah Dreibelbis, Eli Berry, Mitchell and Trenton White, Arianna Jolley, Noah Schwartz and Van Jolley. There is to be no public viewing. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the ELEY/MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., Fayette City. www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com.
